Draft, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. This page says what we do today, in plain words. It will be checked and updated before Esmero is in the App Store.
Privacy
Esmero is a training and health log kept on your phone. This page covers two things: this website, and the app.
This website
Nothing about you is collected. The site has no forms yet. A waitlist opens closer to launch, and before it does this page will say exactly what it keeps and how to be removed from it.
No analytics, no cookies. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Two values are kept in your browser’s local storage: the theme you chose and the accent you picked. They never leave your browser. Cloudflare serves the pages and keeps its usual server logs under its own terms.
The app
Your records stay on your phone. Workouts, body metrics, weekly check-ins, lab results, protocols, coach chats and attachments are saved in a database on the device. The phone is the source of truth. No server of ours holds your health data in readable form.
Photos and lab reports are redacted on your phone before they are stored. Originals you choose to keep never leave the device.
Exercise media. Exercise names, thumbnails and clips are fetched from ymove through our server when you browse the library. Those requests carry nothing of yours.
The coach. When you ask the coach, your message and the history it needs travel from your phone, through our server, to an AI provider. Our server passes them through and does not keep them. This happens only after you agree, on one consent screen in the app, which names the provider. On the consent screen, Allow includes bloodwork, blood pressure and protocols, and Customise lets you leave any of them out. You can switch each one off later in Settings. If you send an attachment to the coach, only the redacted copy goes.
Your account. Your Apple or Google sign-in is held by Firebase, and your subscription by RevenueCat. Neither holds health data. Our server keeps a count of coach requests per account and which phone is signed in, so it can apply fair limits. It never stores what your messages say.
The coach’s reference library. When the coach looks something up in its reference library, only the question text is sent, never your records. The app works fully without it.
Exports and backups. Nothing is exported or backed up unless you export it, or switch on a weekly backup to your own Files or iCloud Drive folder. Bloodwork, protocols and other sensitive records are left out unless you include them for that export.
In the works. Nutrition logging and form checking are still being built. When they ship, a meal description or photo will go to ymove only when you ask it to log a meal, and a video of a set will go to ymove only when you tap Analyse. That video is deleted after analysis by default, never backed up and never sent to the coach. This page will be updated when they ship.
Deleting the app deletes your records from your phone. A few small items the app keeps in the iPhone Keychain, such as this install’s device id, can outlast it until you erase the phone. If you want to keep your records, make a backup first.
Who we are
Esmero is made in Australia by its developer. A contact address will be listed here before Esmero is in the App Store.
Esmero is not a medical device. It shows your numbers and says when to ask a professional.
