Support
Esmero is not in the App Store yet. Support opens when it is, with an address to write to. Until then, the short answers below cover the common questions.
Short answers
Where is my data? On your phone, in a database the app keeps on the device. Workouts, body metrics, check-ins, lab results, protocols, coach chats and attachments all live there. No server of ours holds your health data in readable form.
Can I get my data out? Yes. Settings has a CSV export of your sets and metrics, a chart image for any chart, and a full JSON backup of everything. You can also switch on a weekly backup to your own Files or iCloud Drive folder. Bloodwork, protocols and other sensitive records are left out of an export or backup unless you include them.
What happens if I delete the app? Your records are deleted with it. A few small items in the iPhone Keychain, such as this install’s device id, can outlast the app. Make a backup first if you want to keep your records, and restore it after reinstalling.
Does the coach see my data? Only what you allow. Nothing goes to the coach’s AI provider until you answer one consent screen in the app. After that, your messages and the history the coach needs travel through our server, which passes them through and does not keep them, to the provider named on that screen. On the consent screen, Allow includes bloodwork, blood pressure and protocols, and Customise lets you leave any of them out. You can switch each one off later in Settings.
Can I use the coach without sending anything? Yes, by choosing Not now on the consent screen. Logging, charts, check-ins and labs all work as before. The coach waits.
Is Esmero a medical device? No. Esmero is not a medical device and does not diagnose. It shows your numbers, with the range your lab printed, and says when something is worth raising with your doctor.
Which phones? iPhone first. An Android build is planned.
How do I say the name? es-MEH-ro, with the stress on the middle syllable. It is Spanish for great care.
